New Ventures in Food and Agriculture for Indiana, Purdue University
The New Ventures Team is a collaborative effort of Purdue Extension educators and campus specialists coming together to help citizens of Indiana interested in starting or expanding a small business. Members of the team are strategically located throughout the state and represent diverse areas of expertise. They offer educational workshops and materials and a comprehensive website (www.agecon.purdue.edu/newventures) with lots of resources to answer questions you may have about beginning your new venture.

Indiana Cooperative Development Center
The Indiana Cooperative Development Center is a non-profit organization founded in 2003 to assist cooperative and collaborative organizations. ICDC is committed to building sustainable businesses where people work together to meet their needs and reach their goals.  We provide technical assistance, education and training for developing and existing groups.  Our services are tailored to be relevant to each group's needs, taking into account different levels of business experience. 

Indiana State Department of Agriculture
The Indiana State Department of Agriculture was created in 2005 to advance the state's food and agriculture industry. The Department links producers and agribusinesses with economic development and entrepreneurial resources, assists landowners in the implementation of good conservation practices, facilitates international trade and investment opportunities, and assists with regulatory issues.

USDA-Rural Development
Rural Development is committed to helping improve the economy and quality of life in all of rural America. Through our programs, we touch rural America in many ways.  Our financial programs support such essential public facilities and services as water and sewer systems, housing, health clinics, emergency service facilities and electric and telephone service.  We promote economic development by supporting loans to businesses through banks and community-managed lending pools.  We offer technical assistance and information to help agricultural and other cooperatives get started and improve the effectiveness of their member services.  And we provide technical assistance to help communities undertake community empowerment programs.
